Simon Lenton joins DECO on January 16th to perform Haydn's famous Trumpet Concerto in E flat.

Simon Lenton - Trumpet

Simon is principal trumpet with the English Symphony Orchestra and the internationally renowned Fine Arts Brass, but relishes guesting with other orchestras in chamber, period performance, symphonic and opera repertoire. He has worked with many of the finest orchestras around, including the BBC orchestras, the RSNO in Scotland, Lutoslawski Philharmonic in Poland, Welsh National Opera, Zurich Chamber Orchestra, and the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

He has recorded sessions for film and TV and played lead trumpet on the world tours of artists like The Temptations, Sister Sledge, The Supremes, and Englebert Humperdinck. He plays in the popular jazz group, The Sticky Wicket Jazz band and as a classical trumpet soloist has given recitals around the UK and Europe. His CD of Baroque classics was described by BBC Music Magazine as “stunning virtuosity”.

Simon has trodden the boards in theatrical productions around the UK and in London's West End, most notably as Sir Ian McKellan's Trumpeter in the RSC's world tour of King Lear.
